This piece is a textual analysis of Lalita Tademy’s Red River. I was tasked to explore and analyze topics used in Tademy’s novel using discussion/analysis of the text. This piece is placed first because it is what I least enjoyed writing. I struggled with it the most because I do not favor these kinds of prompts. However, these academic prompts are the kinds of prompts that strengthen my writing, allowing me to learn and grow from my mistakes. Through the peer review process, I learned that there is needed room for improvement and that I need to work on my word choice and on clearly organizing my ideas.
